I am a software developer currently looking for my next big thing. Most recently I was working full time for Myshape.com. Before that I was building the Kemonel framework for my friends at Tumis.com. Tumis company was found by friends of mine from college. Somehow we all ended up working on publishing sites or doing graphic design. Guess it was inevitable that I'd end up coding for them. Previously I worked at Citysearch.com, eToys.com (the one that bursted during the bubble in 2001), and Oversee.net.
I'm into science-fiction, particulary stuff that offers a critical analysis of our own world and times. Yes, I'm a Trekkie, a Star Wars fan, a Brown Coat, a Scaper, a BSG devotee, am quite Lost, consider my self a Scoobie, and am a closet Whovian. If there was a nick name for Robotech and Hayao Miyazaki fans, I add them to the list.
I live in El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Angeles del Río de Porciúncula, otherwise known as L.A., but grew up behind the Orange Curtain in Garden Grove, CA. I would describe myself as a mild-mannared programmer by day, Chicano hack-tivista by night. I've recently rediscovered riding bikes of the human powered variety and when I'm not strapped in front of a computer I'm usually out side soaking up the Cultura with my better half, Laura.
I have a BA from the University of California at Berkeley in Development Studies (read 'the politics/economics/social situation of the so-called developing world').
